Stamping workshop extravaganza!

Well it was that time of the year again. For the ladies of Kingston to get together and stamp away the day. And what a fun day it was. From milk cartons to bird baths and tri-fold cards, the day was a great success. Many thanks to my mother in law for organizing the day.

Stamps galore!! These were some of the used stamps for sale. I was a good girl.  I bought only minimal.  After all I do have a birthday coming up.  Does it matter that I've already gotten all my presents early!
Here are some of the projects that the lovely ladies created.

This is where our creative geniuses worked.  Yes it's messy but we knew exactly what we were doing.
It's a little organized chaos!

Melanie hard at work.

And finally the products of our hard work.

These little milk carton boxes are adorable.  How cute and compact to put pretty much anything in!  And the girls did a fabulous job with all the colours and finishes.

I think I'm going to do these for Halloween.   My pre-schoolers will love them. Especially if they are filled with yummy treats.

Brayer cards were the hit!  Melanie Lavigne created this masterpiece.  The blended colours to create a sunset was simply gorgeous. I did this card with my stampin group a while ago and it was such a hit with the ladies.  They each had their own little spin to it.

Linda Cameron did this cute little mouse one.  I absolutely love the layering of the backgrounds.  And the little mice are too cute!   I had to go home and try and re-create this one.  I used it as father's day card and put the caption "me and my dad".  I loved Linda's version of this card.  Very original!!

Here are some of the other goodies that we did that day.

Believe it not, this book was created with tissue napkin paper, layered on top of fabric, brushed with water and blue and left to dry for a couple of hours.  The end result, a gorgeous rustic looking book to put pictures in.  I did a floral and Paris theme.  Something to put a few honeymoon pictures in?  I think so!

Crayon resist mini cards.  Aren't they tiny and cute?  We also learned to make our very own mini envelopes

And of course the Tri-fold card.  There were very many that were done but this is the sample I did a while ago with my stampin group.  They liked it so much they used it as the main sample to draw inspiration from.

When it was all said and done, we went home happy and satisfied with our goodies and make and takes.  It was a long busy day with lots of stamping and creating but a good day spent with crafters alike.

Until next year.

Purple.

Tis the colour of the season.  I was in love with this colour a couple of weeks ago.  Not to say that I'm still not but I thought I would create a few cards in my favourite hue.  The above masterpiece I did with my stamping group.  We did a black red and white one for Valentine's Day.  I used the different hues of purple to emphasize the multiple folds in this card.

I am loving the monochromatic theme lately.  Plus I got to bring out some old stamp sets I haven't used in a while

Plus, I couldn't resist pulling out my Fifth Avenue Floral from Stampin Up.  How did I ever live without this set!

Clean and Simple.

Clean and simple!  That's it.  With all the complications in life lately.  I needed something simple.   These cards are simple and to the point but it's still fresh and eye catching.

Love the cute little balloons.  What else can I say.  Again, clean and simple and to the point.

I keep borrowing this stamp from my mother in law.  I love the simplicity of this stamp.  I may have to purchase this set for myself.

Fabulous Florals.

I just had to showcase these florals I worked on last spring.

Can you tell I love my Fifth Avenue Florals set. It's my go to set.  Here is a picture of the inside of the card.  As I thought that the card looked great outside but inside is a whole different game!

I love the colors against each other.  One of my favourite Stampin up cardstock colours.  Kiwi Kiss paired together with Pink Passion.

Here are a few others that I did last spring as well, with a bit of a birthday theme.

I plan on using more and more of the florals this season.  But I think for the next set of cards I will be brave and try some non conventional colours.

Reminds me of a summer night.

I did this card last year.  We did it with my stampin group and I still love it.  It's so reminiscent of summer nights.  I love the different shades of blue in this card and how that reminds me so much of summer nights.  The silhouette of the grass against the blue dusk sky is such a strong contrast of colour but at the same time it compliments each other.

Easter.

.

Easter! Oh how I love Easter. The colours, chocolate, bunnies and eggs. Who can resist these yummy little treats. You really can't have only one.  Couldn't you just reach in and just grab a handful.  Mmmm! Love these.

Easter egg hunt!  How much fun do you remember having an Easter egg hunt.  That tricky little Easter bunny.

According to my nephew, this is what the Easter bunny HAS to bring for Easter.  It's just not Easter without the gold bunnies.  Now isn't that a great outlook on life!!

Until next year Easter.

Wedding Things

Recently I've been hired to design and produce the entire stationary line for a friend's wedding.  Working with her fabulous colours, I think I've created a very stylish and contemporary line.

This is her Save the Date I've created for their wedding.  I love the colours together.  She did a great job at picking the colours.

And also for the record, I love the flourishes!  They have that hint of being very traditional but modern at the same time.

These are just a few other samples I created for them.  They had to pick one and I think they made a very classic and elegant choice

I love Wedding things! I absolutely love creating things for weddings. I love seeing the look of joy on a client's face when they see a bit of themselves in their own personalized stationary

Stay tuned for more after the wedding!
