Mother's Day

So I worked on some Mother's Day cards this week for the lovely moms.  I used A Rose is a Rose stamp set from Stampin Up.  I absolutely love this stamp set.  It's so classic, warm and beautiful. So I found it very fitting to use it for the Moms. Classic warm and beautiful moms!  It's been a tough year and when it was really bad, the one person we knew we could rely on were our mothers! Thank you mamas, we love the both of you!

This is the first one I did.  I wasn't too sure how the colours would look together.  I have fallen in love with Crushed Curry from Stampin Up. Sometimes the colours you think wouldn't look good at first ends up looking great together.  In the end all the colours ended up looking fantastic together.

I used Angels Mist Glimmermist on the roses for both cards in iridescent gold.  I think they added that little bit of extra dimension to the roses and the overall feeling of the cards.

The second card I did I used the classic colour combo of pinks and purples.  I used Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry, both from Stampin Up.

Again I can't say how much I love this set.  Once I got the 2 step layering mastered, it was easy to create such pretty roses.

Hope the moms liked them.  Happy Mother's Day to the worlds most awesome wonderful moms!!

  2. Thanks! The roses are so pretty! I think it's the shimmer paint that adds that special something to it.
